Former Finance Minister Katele Kalumba has observed that the load shedding being experienced in the country is an indication there is need for a ZESCO management shakeup.
Dr. Kalumba thinks that for a parastatal like ZESCO to perform more efficiently government must restructure the power utility company by putting the best people in management.
He has told Qfm News by telephone he finds it senseless for ZESCO to continue under performing when there has been so much investment pumped in the Energy sector.

The former Finance Minister says given how much the power utility company has been capitalized; he is of the view that what is needed now is only efficient management of the company.
He has called the Minister of Mines, Energy and Water Development Christopher Yaluma to urgently look into the issue of ZESCO’s alleged under performance.
Dr. Kalumba states that ZESCO has now become a disturbing crisis that needs special attention by government.
He has particularly wondered how development will take place in the rural areas if they continue to be subjected to load shedding or being supplied with low voltage electricity.
