Zambia Under-20 are worried about the fitness of Lubambo Musonda ahead of Thursday’s 2015 African Youth Championship penultimate Group B match against Ghana in M’Bour.

Lubambo limped off in the first half with a right ankle injury during Zambia’s 1-0 loss to Mali in both sides opening Group B match on Monday night.

“He is a key player for our team and we hope he is going to recover for the game against Ghana,” Zambia Under-20 coach Hector Chilombo said.

“We need Lubambo and everybody else on board so that we have a strong team when we play against Ghana.”

The midfielder from Armenian club Ulisses FC is one of three players in the Zambia Under-20 team in Senegal, who were also part of the senior squad at the 2015 Africa Cup in Equatorial Guinea.

Striker Patrick Ngoma and midfielder Spencer sautu are the other two.

Meanwhile, third placed Young Chipolopolo must beat Group B leaders Ghana to stay in the hunt at the tournament.

Ghana have three points following their 2-0 win over South Africa on Monday, who like Zambia will exit the African Youth Championship with a game to spare should they lose to Mali on the same date.
