RTSA makes headway in installation of CCTV on roads

rtsaThe Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) says progress has been made in the planned installation of CCTV on highways throughout the country.

RTSA Chief Executive Officer Zindaba Soko says they have reached a stage where they are trying to quantify what the cost of the project will be.

Mr Soko says the surveillance is supposed to run from Kafue to Ndola and from Kabwe round about to Chongwe.

Mr. Soko explains that this will help the agency to see how much it will cost before finally making a decision on how best they will implement the project.

He says the installation of CCTVs will help monitor what is happening on the roads considering the high number of road accidents.

Mr. Soko states that it is hoped the installation of CCTV on highways will bring sanity on the roads.
