President Lungu diagnosed with Malaria

E LunguRepublican President Edgar Lungu has confirmed that doctors at Maina Soko Military hospital have found traced of malaria in him.

Addressing journalists during a press briefing at Maina Soko Military Hospital where he is currently receiving treatment, President Lungu says doctors are still attending to him.

President Lungu says he is looking forward to going back to his usual duties but that he will wait until the doctors have told him to go back to State House.

Speaking at the same briefing, Zambia Medical Association President Aaron Mujajati says President Lungu must be commended for being the first Republican President to come out in the open that he is not feeling to well.

Dr. Mujajati says the country lost two sitting presidents because the was no transparency in the way they handled their sicknesses.

Dr. Mujajati states that presidents are normal human beings who can also fall sick and that there is nothing sinister about the Head of State being sick.

He recalls that when President Lungu took over office, he took a routine medical check up saying he must be recommended for being transparent about his health.
