Farmers expect action than pledges – Mukobela

Chief Mukobela of the Ila speaking people in Namwala district of Southern province says farmers in the country expect action and not mere pledges from President Edgar Lungu in addressing the challenges they are facing.

Chief Mukobela says the people of Zambia have had enough of the promises which have yielded nothing.

He says it is now time for government to talk less and act if the farmers and the people of Zambia in general are to trust them.

Chief Mukobela says it is not fair for the government to keep promising farmers year in year out without acting on the promises made which only raise their hopes.

He adds that farmers are anxiously waiting to see how President Lungu will act differently from past Presidents in ensuring that the challenges that the farmers are facing are addressed in the quickest possible time.
