TPAZ calls for effectiveness in management of timber

Timber Producers Association of Zambia (TPAZ) says for as long as there is no proper coordination between the key stakeholders challenges being faced in the timber industry will persist.Timber

TPAZ Vice President Charles Masange has told Qfm news that there is need for timber producers, the ministry of commerce, trade and industry and the ministry of Lands to sit and discuss how the challenges being faced in timber industry can be resolved.

Mr Masange explains that for two years now, local timber producers have not been able to get timber licenses because of the policies government has put in place.

He says it is unfortunate that government has only been able to listen to the foreign   timber producers and never takes advice from the local producers.

Mr Masange has since appealed to President Edgar Lungu to weed out bad elements in the system engaging in corruption.
