ZED notes need to respect separation of powers

Zambians for Empowerment Development (ZED) has noted the need to respect the separation of powers in dealing with alleged crimes committed by Director of Public Prosecutions Mutembo Nchito.

ZED President Frederick Mutesa says calling upon President Edgar Lungu to intervene in the issue of Mr. Nchito without following proper procedure will not help in harnessing the country’s democracy.

Dr. Mutesa says people seeking the removal of Mr. Nchito should follow the due process provided for in the constitution.

Dr Mutesa says this entails justification of the crimes alleged to have been committed by Mr. Nchito after which a tribunal should be called to investigate the allegations.
