Women encouraged to take part in Intern’l Women’s Day

The Zambia National Women’s Lobby (ZNWL) has encouraged women not to shun this year’s in international women’s day celebrations this coming Sunday.

ZNWL Board Chairperson Beauty Katebe says women should be part of the celebrations considering the importance of the day to women.

Ms Katebe notes that women have continued to be active contributors to national development and thus they should not look down on themselves.

She adds that this year’s international women’s day is exciting as it comes at a time when a number of women have been appointed to higher leadership positions.

Ms. Katebe further states that men should support and appreciate the women and the role they play in the society and encourage them to continue.
