MISA Zambia Board member Wilson Pondamali has told Qfm news that it is disheartening to note that government through the ministry of information and broadcasting services is not giving accurate information pertaining to progress made on the ATI Bill.

Mr. Pondamali says the statement by Information and Broadcasting services Permanent Secretary Chanda Kasolo that the ATI bill is now in the hands of the Attorney General is confusing and disturbing to the media bodies and practitioners.

He explains that the statement is worrying because former Information Minister Dr.Joseph Katema had indicated that the document was submitted to Cabinet waiting to be presented to parliament.

Mr Pondamali stresses that MISA is not satisfied with the statement by the Permanent Secretary and wants a clear position from government on what stage the Access to Information Bill is at.
