President Lungu warns against nepotism

Lungu after swearing inRepublican President Edgar Lungu says he will not tolerate nepotism in the civil service.

President Lungu says this is because nepotism is as bad as corruption and tribalism.

President Lungu has told senior civil servants to be on the lookout and ensure they do not condone negative vices such as nepotism, tribalism and corruption.

President Lungu has emphasized that he wants to unite Zambians and forge ahead as one people.

And President Lungu has urged PF Members of Parliament to be proactive in their debates as the house resumes sitting this afternoon.

He says there is need for PF Members of Parliament to help the Leader of Government Business in the house Inonge Wina saying some parliamentarians may try to frustrate her and portray a picture that government is not doing anything.

And President Lungu has urged the media in the country not to promote violence by failing to package their reports well.

He says he was disappointed to hear a report from one media house this morning reporting that PF cadres had killed a UPND cadre in Mtendere without getting the facts right.

President Lungu says the media and politicians should not politicize everything and put the blame on the party in power saying such things have the potential to divide the nation and bring anarchy in the country.

He said this at State House this morning when he sworn-in Sydney Mushanga as Deputy Minister of Education, Obious Chisala as Community Development, Mother and Child Health Deputy Minister and Henry Lumbeta as Chief Policy Analyst at State House.

Meanwhile President Lungu has left for South Africa for bilateral consultations with his South African counterpart Jacob Zuma.

President Lungu who left this morning is expected back in the country this evening.
