ICOZ hails President Lungu

The Independent Churches of Zambia (ICOZ)has commended Republican President Edgar Lungu for pledging to uphold Zambia’s declaration as Christian nation.

ICOZ Board Chairman David Masupa says President Lungu should be
commended for his pledge considering that Zambia needs God more than ever.

Bishop Masupa says without putting God first, it is impossible for the country to prosper.

He says the Head of State should rest be assured that he has the full support of the church and that the church will not relent but continue to pray for peace in the country.

Bishop Masupa notes that over 80 percent of the country’s population comprises Christians and thus the need for Zambia to be maintained as a Christian nation.

President Edgar Lungu yesterday pledged to uphold Zambia’s declaration as a Christian nation during a thanks giving mass at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross yesterday.
