YALI supports calls for PF, opposition dialogue

The Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) has advised President Edgar Lungu not to ignore calls of calling for a dialogue meeting with opposition leaders and iron out issues affecting the people.

YALI Governance Advisor Isaac Mwanza has told QFM News in a telephone interview that there is no doubt that there is still political tension between the ruling party and the opposition.

Mr. Mwanza believes that this kind of tension can only be resolved by President Lungu calling for a dialogue meeting with the opposition.

Mr. Mwanza says there is also need for President Lungu to open doors for Civil Society Organizations so that they too can provide guidance on the governance matters affecting the people.

He says President Lungu needs the opposition as well as the CSOs and thus the need for him to accommodate them for the betterment of the country.

The YALI Governance Advisor says there is still more work to be done between the ruling party and opposition in terms of working together and promoting peace and unity in the country.
