Sampa advises young people to embrace politics

IMAG0103Rights and Governance Activist Kelvin Sampa has observed that young people have now realized that they cannot do without politics.

Speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka this morning, Mr. Sampa says young people have come to the realization that not involving themselves in active politics is putting their future at risk.

Mr. Sampa notes that young people being the future of the nation should take centre stage in all areas including politics citing that failure to participate in politics now, they will fail to lead the nation politically when the old politicians are no more.

He adds that young people are lucky that President Lungu has given them a young and vibrant leader to lead them in the ministry of youth and sports adding that they are confident that the new youth minister understand the challenges they are facing.

Mr. Sampa stresses that President Lungu is a youth friendly President and thus young people should support him if many of the challenges young people are facing are to be addressed.

He says young people are the engines of the economy and if they do not enter the system at a very tender age, they will be wasteful when their time comes.

He has further appealed to government to come up with deliberate policies that will enable youths to actively participate in decision making processes as well as find ways of empowering the youths in the country so they can contribute effectively to the development of the nation.
