Spokesperson of the sixteen opposition political parties in the Grand Coalition demanding for a people driven constitution has observed that witch-hunting will kill the coalition.

Reverend Jervan Kamanga says he is disappointed with statements being issued against Alliance for Better Zambia (ABZ) President Fr. Frank Bwalya following his presence at the recent Grand Coalition meeting.

Reverend Kamanga who is also NAREP Secretary General says the incident that happened at the meeting was uncalled for.

He says the Grand Coalition is now washing dirty linen in public which is not good for the coalition.

Rev. Kamanga notes that the when the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) went behind the Grand Coalition, they were given an opportunity to appear before the executive and the matter was looked at from all angles.

He says in the case of Fr. Bwalya, whether people had facts or not, the way the matter was handled was not the right way.

Rev. Kamanga states that the best way to deal with the issue was to let the political parties handle the matter as political parties before the grand coalition could come in.

Rev. Kamanga further states that the terms of reference of their engagement in the Grand Coalition have nothing to do with who they support.

Last week, ABZ leader Fr. Bwalya was requested to excuse himself at the meeting of the Grand Coalition because of his stance on the constitution during the election campaigns where he allegedly said that the holding of a national referendum as a means of adopting a new constitution was a waste of time and resources, a statement said to be in breach of the fundamental principles of the Coalition
