Lungu to build on Zambia’s bilateral ties

Lungu with diplomatsRepublican President Edgar Lungu has pledged to continue building on the bilateral relations Zambia has with other countries to foster development in the country.

Speaking during the presentation of credentials at State House this morning, President Lungu said he is hopeful that the credentials will strengthen the relations Zambia has with the respective countries for mutual benefit and understanding.

He says it is motivating to note that since independence, Zambia has been able to maintain her relations with other countries which symbolizes that Zambia is a peaceful and democratic nation.

Mr Lungu says Zambia and other countries share the same views and hold similar positions such as promoting peace and harmony, promoting human rights, promoting national security among others.

President Lungu says the long standing relations will continue to benefit key sectors such as agriculture, energy, manufacturing, financial market, education, technology among others.

The Head of State has since assured the envoys that they have his full support in their various works.

The Ambassadors and High Commissioners who presented credentials are Getrude Takawira from Zimbabwe, Sophy Kombe from Kenya, Evelyn Letooane from Lesotho, Varadet Viravakin from Thailand, Stephanus Yuwono from Indonesia and Beka Dvali from Georgia.
