ZED urges new Cabinet to work hard

The opposition Zambians for Empowerment and Development says it expects nothing but handwork from President Edgar Lungu’s administration.

ZED President Fredrick Mutesa says it is good that President Lungu has taken note ofDr Mutesa the limited time his government has to deliver on the promises made to the Zambian people before the 2016 general elections.

Dr Mutesa has told Qfm News in an interview it is for this reason that his party did not expect fundamental changes to Cabinet given the unfortunate circumstances under which President Lungu came into office.

Dr. Mutesa says it was imperative that President Lungu keeps most of the Cabinet Ministers who served in late President Michael Sata’s administration as he has done, but that there are some changes to the Cabinet his party is of the view should be reconsidered.

He has singled out the removing of Dr John Phiri from the Ministry of Education as one of such decisions President Lungu should reconsider considering that Dr. Phiri appeared to have been doing well at the Ministry of Education.

Dr. Mutesa says this is because the appointment of MMD Member of Parliament Michael Kaingu to the Ministry of Education may not work well for the already set government programmes.
