The final list of nominees for the fourth Mosi Lager Zambian Music Awards (ZMAs) has been unveiled with the winners expected to be announced on 11th April 2015.

Like last year, the ZMAs have a total of 34 categories divided into the populist and technical industry clusters.

Announcing the development at Lusaka’s Intercontinental Hotel on Friday, National Arts Council Chairperson Mulenga Kapwepwe said in the last six weeks, they received over 39, 000 nominations of which over 500 came through the SMS and 38, 500 came through facebook and website.

Kapwepwe said the highest nominations came in the Best Radio DJs, Song and Album of the year category.

Kapwepwe said Reggae and Jazz recorded the lowest nominations.

She however applauded the Zambia Breweries Plc for being instrumental in supporting the music industry in Zambia.

The categories are as follows;

ZMA 1 Lifetime Achievement Award, ZMA 5 Best Jazz Album, ZMA 15 Outstanding Musical (Instruments) Innovation, ZMA 22 Best Hip-Hop Album will be announced on the night of the award.

ZMA 2 Best Traditional Music Album Malibu by Tasila Mwale and Chachacha Oyamba by Matthew Tembo.

ZMA 3 Best Indigenous Music Group Ngoma Yetu of Kaoma, Kasama Arts Troupe of Kasama and Zambezi Source of Zambezi.

ZMA 4 Best Live Album Moment of Truth by Afro Red, Chachacha Oyamba by Matthew Tembo and Muli Yesu by Northmead Assemblies of God.

ZMA 6 Best Sound Engineer Anold Sibalwa (Ringman), Ben Kalulu (Ben Blazer) and Brian Michelo (Brian Mission Press).

ZMA 7 Best Studio Sound Producer Ben Blazer, Jericho Banda (Jerry Fingers) and Magnus Mando (Magg44).

ZMA 8 Best Lead Guitarist Victor Kasoma, Rex Mukobonda (Uncle Rex) and Israel Kaputula.

ZMA 9 Best Bass Guitarist David Kasochi, Jericho Banda (Jerry Fingers) and Sheba Chintu.

ZMA 10 Best Keyboard Player Lazarous Zulu, Mutamula Mwale and Samuel Nyambe.

ZMA 11 Best Drummer Charles Chambuluka (Charlie Chax), Eston Mwape and Smith Phiri.

ZMA 12 Best Traditional Indigenous Instrumentalist Rodrick Mungala (Namwala Player), Grace Ng’andu (Mantimbwa Player) and Moses Munsaka Muchindu (Malimba Player).

ZMA 13 Best Song Writer Kangwa Kapampa (Israel), Mulenga Kabaso and Brian Cheengwa (Late P Jay).

ZMA 14 Best Niyatu (Zed Beats) Album Mr Nyopola by Wilson Ngoma (Wills) and Pupwe Chulu by Stanley Ng’andu (Stain Da Industry).

ZMA 16 Best Gospel Album Love Unleashed by Abel Chungu, Exile to Israel by Kangwa Kapampa (Israel) and Ulukombo Lwamweo by Mirriam Mumba (Suwilanji).

ZMA 17 best Mainstream Album Telemundo by Jordan Ketembula (JK), Time Bomb by Richard Banda (T-Sean) and Heart of a Lion by Kondwani Kaira (Chef 187).

ZMA 18 Best Gospel Female Artist Stay Zimba, Rachael Nanyangwe and Mirriam Mumba (Suwilanji).

ZMA 19 Best Gospel Male Artist Abel Chungu, Israel (formerly known as Exile) and Chaka Nyanthando (Pompi).

ZMA 20 Best mainstream Male Artist Jordan Katembula (JK), Roberto Banda (Roberto) and Kondwani Kaira (Chef 187).

ZMA 21 Best Mainstream Female Artist Mirriam Mukape (Mampi) Jemimah Chulu (Scarlet) and Fales Kasongo (Brisky).

ZMA 23 best R&B Album Love Unleashed by Abel Chungu, Nafika by Fumbani Changaya (F-Jay) and Zimandola by Stanley Ng’andu (Stain Da Industry).

ZMA 24 Best Reggae Album Bouncing Ball by Peter Chuma (Peter Bob), Freedom by Chris Aka and The teacher by Milimo Muyanga (Mills).

ZMA 25 Best Dancehall Album Five Star by David Banda (General Ozzy), Telemundo by Jordan Katembula (JK) and Time Bomb by Richard Banda (T Sean).

ZMA 26 Best Kalindula Album Amalango by Gina Hidie, Ndenvu by Liseli Sisters and Abakali Bakali by Sansamukeni.

ZMA 27 Best Collaboration Kumalila Ngoma by Chef and Afunika, Alangizi by Kantu and Slap Dee, Basazibe by Mampi and Judy.

ZMA 28 Best Choral Album Wileka Umuntu by Busokolo, Amakwebo by Great Chronicles and Pa Lupili by Mt Sinai.

ZMA 29 Best New Artist Kantu Siachingili (Kantu, Wilson Ngoma (Wills) and Urban Hype.

ZMA 30 Song of the Year Belinda Nafwa by Chester, Mama Rabecca by Marcky 2 and Kalilole by Cleo Boy.

ZMA 31 Best Male Radio DJ Kaliwa (Hot FM), Ma Chilu (ZNBC) and Zachs (Hot FM).

Best Female DJ Hope Chishala, Mimi (QFM) and Roxy (Radio Phoenix).

ZMA 33 Best Club DJ DJ Bizzy Wizzy, DJ Hussein, and DJ Shooter.

ZMA 34 Best Band Amayenge Cultural Ensemble, Uncle Rex Band, and Elect band.

The voting has seen been opened till 8th April, 2015.
