PPAZ calls on Wina to deal with teen pregnancy issues

PPAZPlanned Parenthood Association of Zambia (PPAZ) has appealed to Vice President Inonge Wina to consider setting up a desk in her office to specifically deal with teenage pregnancies.

PPAZ Executive Director Edford Mutuma says Ms. Wina has the capacity to change things and help the young girls realize their dreams by putting education as first priority.

Mr Mutuma says it is disheartening to note that the country has continued to record increased cases of teenage pregnancies forcing most girls to drop out of school.

He states that PPAZ has no doubt that Ms Wina can take up the responsibility as mother and help address teenage pregnancies and early marriages.

Mr Mutuma notes that once such a desk is set up, it will provide easy and united collaboration between the ministries of Education and Community development, mother and child health to protect the future of young girls.

The PPAZ Executive Director says PPAZ will continue to sensitize young people on the dangers of early pregnancies and provide quality reproductive health care services.
