Police in Lusaka have executed the court warrant to arrest Director of Public Prosecutions Mutembo Nchito.
Police Spokesperson Charity Munganga Chanda has confirmed to QFM News that Mr Nchito has been arrested for nine (9) offences.
Mrs Chanda says Mr. Nchito was arrested around 11:30 hrs this morning and is currently in custody pending his appearance in court.
She says offences Mr Nchito faces include two counts of Abuse of Authority of Office, two counts of Contempt of court, Procuring execution of documents by false pretences, Uttering a false document, Fraudulent contracting of debt, False swearing and Conspiracy to defeat justice.
Mrs Chanda states that all the offences are alleged to have been committed between January 2008 and August 2013.
