Injured Under-17 midfielder Changwe Kalale has told his teammates that a top 3 finish at the CAF U17 Cup will be a boost for his recovery.
Kalale will miss Zambia’s debut outing at the CAF Under-17 Cup after sustaining a spinal injury in a road accident in December.
“I just wish the team the very best, I know they will bring pride to this country and that will really help me to get well,” Kalale said.
Kalale sustained his injury on December 14 in a traffic accident on his way to joining the senior Zambia teams’ pre-2015 Africa Cup training camp in Lusaka.
The defensive midfielder has one senior senior cap that he earned in Zambia’s 1-1 draw with Cote d’Ivoire on October 25, 2014 in Lusaka.
Meanwhile, Zambia are in Group A at the 2015 CAF Under-17 Cup where they are drawn against Nigeria, Guinea and hosts Niger.
Zambia face Guinea in their opening game on February 15.
