Women politicians praised for taking part in campaigns

Former Women for Change Executive Director Emily Sikazwe has praised women politicians for the role they played during campaigns in their various political parties.

Ms. Sikazwe who is Women for Change Trustee notes that women worked so hard in the just ended election citing those in the Patriotic Front who contributed to the party’s victory in the just ended presidential election.

Ms. Sikazwe says Zambians have been given an opportunity to see what female politicians are capable of doing, adding that the notion that women cannot do it, should not be there as they have shown that they can make a difference.

She adds that the women in political parties are role models to many girls in the country who will look up to them and emulate them.

Ms. Sikazwe has urged women to continue working hard and show the nation that they can equally contribute to the development of the nation.

She has further congratulated Forum for Democracy and Development President Edith Nawakwi for her performance and has encouraged her not to give up but forge ahead.
