Government has disclosed that it will soon streamline the controversial Value Added Tax (VAT) Rule no.18 to offer the desired relief to all exporters.

Finance Minister Alexander Chikwanda has hinted that VAT Rule no.18 will in the next few weeks be streamlined.

Mr. Chikwanda explains that government is host to all investors local and foreign, hence has the duty and obligation and responsibility to create a conducive atmosphere for all players in the economy regardless of size.

He says policy somersaults are at variance with predictability and consistence which all players who take the plunge to invest in Zambia’s economy need.

The Finance Minister says government has always maintained an open door policy which is why there has been very high levels of foreign investment which has sustained reasonable economic growth rates in the last three years averaging six percent.
