Lungu ropes in Mwanakatwe, Sata

President Edgar Lungu has nominated former Barclays Bank Zambia Managing Director Margret Mwanakatwe as Member of Parliament and appointed her Commerce, Trade and Industry Minister.

President Lungu has also nominated Lusaka Mayor Mulenga Sata as Member of Parliament and appointer him Deputy Minister at State House.

The appointments are with immediate effect.

President Lungu has also appointed Mr Boniface Chimbwali as Permanent Secretary for Luapula province.

In a pre-appointment brief,President Lungu urged Mr Chimbwali as to quickly accelerate the delivery of services to the people because the Patriotic Front government owes the people of Luapula a lot.

He said for the people he knows personally he will not hesitate to remove from office for non performance or malpractice.

Meanwhile President Lungu has appointed Registrar of Societies Kakoma Kanganja as deputy Inspector General of Police taking over from Dr Solomon Jere whose appointment has been terminated.

Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations Amos Chanda in a media statement says Dr Jere will be redeployed into the Foreign Service.

President Lungu has also terminated the appointment of Ms Brenda Mutemba Sichilemba as Commissioner of Police and re-deployed her into the Foreign Service.

President Lungu has further transferred North Western province Commissioner of Police Eugene Sibote to Eastern province swapping with Grace Chipalila, while Police Commissioner for Western province Lombe Kamukoshi swaps with Central province Commissioner Standwell Lungu.

The Head of State has also promoted North western province deputy Police Commissioner Auxensio Daka to Commissioner for Muchinga province and transferred Bonnie Kapeso to Southern province in the same capacity.

President Lungu has further terminated the contract of Lusaka province Commissioner Remmy Kajoba and replaced him with Charity Katanga who moves to from Northern Province in the same capacity.

Commissioner of Police in-charge of operations at Service Headquarters Fanwell Siandenge has been sent on leave pending the expiry of his contract on 15th February,2015.

The President has has informed Inspector General of Police Stella Libongani of the changes, which take effect immediately.

President Lungu spent most of the morning meeting all the affected individuals and calling those from outside Lusaka to inform them of his decisions.
