Engage in genuine reconciliation- SACCORD counsels parties

Political parties in the country have been called upon to engage in genuine reconciliation now that the January 20th presidential election has come to pass.

The Southern African Center for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (SACCORD) says time is also now for all political parties to do a soul search with regards how they want their future to be.

Executive Director Boniface Cheembe says now that the January 20th presidential election has passed political parties should also consider revising their constitutions.

Mr. Cheembe has told Qfm News in an interview that this is in order that such party documents are transformed in a manner that is reflective of how modern politics are conducted.

He says SACCORD is also urging political parties that have not gone for conventions to now consider doing so.

Mr.Cheembe states his organization thinks that it is most appropriate that all political parties in the country hold elections at every level of leadership party ranks.
