Establishment of provincial TV stations will accelerate after June – Kasolo

Government says the establishment of provincial Television stations in all provincial headquarters will speed up once the country meets the digital migration deadline in June this year.

And government has maintained that Zambia is on track in meeting the June 2015 digital switchover deadline set by the United Nations International Telecommunications Union (ITU).

Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Services Permanent Secretary Chanda Kasolo has told QFM News that after President Edgar Lungu swears in the new Information Minister, there will be a ground breaking ceremony in Choma for the construction of the provincial TV station.

Mr. Kasolo says in Solwezi District of North Western Province works on the provincial TV station are progressing well.

And Mr. Kasolo has disclosed that government has put in place measures and a policy aimed working towards meeting the digital migration by 16^th July, 2015.
