UNIP has improved- Rev Banda

United National Independence Party (UNIP) Secretary General Reverend Alfred Banda says the former ruling party’s performance in the just ended presidential election is a mark of great improvement.

Rev Banda notes that in the past, UNIP’s performance has not been as good as the party performed in the 20th January,2015 presidential election.

He says they feel they are getting somewhere with the party performance in the just ended election in which it came number five.

He states that UNIP will use the just ended presidential election as a stepping stone to doing much better in the elections to come.

Rev. Banda adds that UNIP is getting back to the drawing board by revisiting all its structures as a way of preparing itself for the 2016 general elections.

He has however congratulated President Edgar Lungu for winning the just ended presidential election.

Rev. Banda says UNIP and the country as a whole are waiting to see what President Lungu is going to offer the people of Zambia.
