Changala hails Wina’s appointment

President Edgar Lungu’s appointment of Inonge Wina as the country’s first female vice president has been described as strong message that Zambia does not belong to one region.

Civil rights activist Brebner Changala is of the view that with such an appointment, President Lungu has made the right footing towards addressing the issue of tribalism in the country.

Mr. Changala says this is because President Lungu has a huge task of uniting the nation owing tChangalao how it has emerged divided after the January 20th presidential election.

In an interview with Qfm News Mr. Changala has expressed confidence that in her position as republican vice president Ms. Wina, who was until her appointment former Gender Minister, will play a vital of reuniting the nation.

Mr. Changala notes that Ms. Wina has already demonstrated her capabilities of being a unifying factor during the country’s transition period.

He says Ms. Wina has also demonstrated how a focused and non controversial a leader she is.

The Civil rights activist has also welcomed President Lungu’s appointment of Amos Chanda as his Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations.

He says the President will greatly benefit from Mr. Chanda’s expertise in dealing with the media as he is already known to be a level headed Journalist.

Mr. Changala further notes that the appointment of constitutional lawyer Ngosa Simbyakula will also ease the tension on the constitution making process.

He says this is because Dr. Simbyakula is a highly qualified seasoned lawyer and therefore the President’s position on enacting the country’s constitution should not be doubted.
