Dodia urges formulation of private sector stimulus plan

Private Sector Development Association (PSDA) Chairperson Yusuf Dodia has urged the new government to come up with a stimulus plan that will continue to drive private sector growth.

Mr. Dodia says the new Republican president should develop a plan that would inject life in the private sector for it to move forward stating that the growth of the private sector results in the growth of the country’s economy as a whole.

He notes that government should be open to dialogue and listen to the private sector’s views to enable them come up with inclusive policies.

Mr Dodia says the private sector plays a major role in the economic development of the nation.

He says the new president should also come up with long term policy measures that support growth of private sector.

Mr Dodia adds that the new government should also strive to create an enabling environment for business to flourish.

He states that as private sector, they are looking at growth through improved private sector capacity to enable it grow and create more jobs for the people of Zambia so that they in turn can be able to pay taxes.
