PVT recipe for anarchy -ZCID

The Zambia Center for Inter Party Dialogue (ZCID) says the continued release of Parallel Voter Tabulation (PVT) presidential results by some stakeholders is recipe for anarchy.

ZCID Executive Director Horrance Chilando says supporters of certain political parties may not accept the final results announced by ECZ if the release of PVT results continues because they will have in mind results from the PVT.

Mr Chilando says it is for this reason that those doing PVT stop announcing such results and allow people to rely on results given by the ECZ.

He says this is a dangerous way of informing the people because people will get whatever has been given to them as gospel truth and might not accept the results from ECZ other than what they have been given.

And YALI Governance Advisor Isaac Mwanza has appealed to the media to restrain themselves from publishing PVT results.

Mr. Mwanza says there is need for the political parties and all stakeholders to remain patient with ECZ as it discharges its mandate to run elections and not rely on the PVT method.
