Muchinga Province Minister Gerry Chanda has thanked the people of Muchinga Province for taking time to vote in Monday’s presidential election.
Mr. Chanda says the people of Muchinga, despite being busy with farming activities spared time to go and cast their votes.
Mr. Chanda says though the turnout has not been overwhelming, it must be noted that people in certain areas braved the rains and voted for their preferred candidates.
He states that people must be encouraged to turn out in large numbers in 2016 to avoid the apathy that characterized the presidential election.
Mr. Chanda has since encouraged the people of Zambia to continue being peaceful as they await the final results of the presidential election.
