Zambians have been advised to ignore all Parallel Voter Tabulations (PVTs) on the presidential election to avoid being misled.
The Zambian Voice fears that if such unsubstantiated PVT results continue to flood the media it will be very difficult for people to accept the outcome of the election when the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) announces the official credible results.
Executive Director Chilufya Tayali says what is important in this case is for people to wait until the ECZ, which is the official body mandated to conduct and announce election results.

Mr. Tayali he says he believes the ECZ has done a commendable job so far the more reason his organization has abandoned its PVT to solely rely on the information the electoral body has been availing to the nation.
He says the ECZ has conducted a free and fair presidential election and therefore if there are any weaknesses that have been observed such flaws will not affect or change the final outcome of the election.
The Zambian Voice Executive Director states that his organization also finds it unfortunate that even before the outcome of the election is known some political parties have declared themselves winners of the poll.
He has called on political parties to desist from the temptation of claiming victory before the final results have been announced.
