Changala sees political disasters in presidential election

Civil rights activist Brebner Changala says the dismembering of the opposition MMD is one of the proven political disasters the January 20th presidential election has brought to Zambia’s democracy.

Mr. Changala says the holding of this year’s presidential election has led to the destruction and ransacking of the MMD by other political parties.

He says this has been made possible by selfish senior members of the former ruling party who have allegedly defected to other political parties such as the ruling PF and the opposition UPND.

In an interview with Qfm News, Mr. Changala has wondered how senior party members that defected to other political parties in the run up to the presidential election will be able to return to the MMD.

Mr. Changala is of the view that it will be morally wrong for MMD Members of Parliament who have literally defected to the UPND to return to their mother political party the MMD.

He adds that PF Members of Parliament who endorsed the candidature of UPND president Hakainde Hichilema are in a similar dilemma.
