ZRL moved 960, 000mt cargo in 2014

The Zambia Railways Limited (ZRL) in the year 2014 moved over nine hundred and sixty thousand (960, 000) metric tones of cargo on their railway line.

And the railway company moved over 300, 000 passengers in the year 2014.

ZRL Chief Executive Officer Muyenga Atanga says the company is determined to move even more cargo this year.

Professor Atanga says people have once again gained confidence in the Zambia railways train saying the speed for passenger trains has increased.

Professor Atanga states that with the introduction of the Michael Chilufya Sata Golden Jubilee express train, the company is expected to move more passengers this year.

Speaking in an interview with QFM News, Professor Atanga is hopeful that the people will now see the benefits and investment of the Euro bond that government gave to the railway company.
