EL a doubt for presidential debate

Patriotic Front (PF) President Edgar Lungu’s availability for this evening’s Live Muvi TV presidential debate is in doubt.

PF Secretary General Davis Chama says he is unable to confirm availability of Mr Lungu at the debate owing to the fact that he still has a busy campaign schedule.

Mr. Chama has told QFM News that that it is unfortunate that Mr. Lungu started his campaigns late when all other candidates had already kick-started their campaigns.

He says Mr Lungu is still winding up his campaigns ahead of the presidential election next week.

He says there is need for the general public to understand that Mr. Lungu is not scared of the debate but only wants to ensure that he reaches out to the rural people who will not have the privilege to watch the live broadcast of the debate.

Mr Chama points out that Mr. Lungu has since travelled to north western province where is expected to hold a series of rallies.

He has since appealed to all Zambians that are eager to listen to the PF president to take heart and be patient.

Mr Chama adds that the ruling party values the importance of the presidential debate and will not undermine it in anyway.

MMD President Nevers Mumba and UPND President Hakainde Hichilema have both confirmed their participation in the presidential debate.
