Paramount Chief Mpezeni of the Ngoni people in Eastern province has expressed sadness over the unprecedented violence that has characterized the forthcoming presidential election.

Speaking this morning shortly before receiving a one hundred thousand kwacha cheque donation from Zamtel to go towards this year’s N’cwala ceremony, Chief Mpezeni says there is need for all political leaders to act now before lives are lost.

Chief Mpezeni stresses that his prayer is that peace and tolerance shall prevail in the country before during and after the elections.

He says is need for people to understand that they are all Zambians before tribe and as such there is need to promote genuine love for one another.

The Ngoni Paramount Chief has since wished all candidates the best of luck and God’s blessings ahead of next week’s election.

And Chief Mpezeni has commended Zamtel for being the main sponsor of the N’cwala ceremony for the third year.

Chief Mpezeni who spoke through N’cwala organizing committee Chairperson Noel Nkhoma says the ceremony will be celebrated on Saturday 28th February, 2015.

And speaking earlier, Zamtel Chief Executive Officer Mupanga Mwanakatwe says Zamtel will remain committed to supporting traditional ceremonies in the country and endeavor to preserve culture.
