UPND cadres apprehend suspected PF cadres masquarading as Police officers

United Party for National Development (UPND) cadres in Monze have apprehended two suspected Patriotic Front cadres alleged to have been in possession of one gun and two pangas and handed them over to Monze Central Police.

The two believed to have been masquerading as Police officers from Lusaka Central Police alleged told the UPND cadres that they were in the area to back up security for the UPND rallies.

The UPND cadres pounced on the suspected PF cadres this morning after a tip from the public.
It is believed the two were found handing out machetes from a Noah bus.

One of the UPND members who handed over the men to the Police, Kelvin Conhill says he believes the men were sent to cause anarchy at the rally.

Efforts to get a comment from the Police in Monze proved futile as the officer in charge was not in the office and could not be reached by phone.
