Grand coalition in Eastern Province set to launch ‘No constitution no vote’ campaign

The Grand Coalition on the People Driven Constitution in Eastern Province is set to launch the ‘No Constitution No Vote’ campaign this week.

Eastern Provincial Grand Coalition Chairperson Maxson Nkhoma in a statement issued to QFM News says the Campaign was initially supposed to be launched by December 2015 in preparation for the 2016 general election but has since been brought forward following the demise of President Michael Sata.

Mr. Nkhoma states that the No Constitution , No Vote Campaign will go on up to the time when the 2016 general elections will be held should the new Constitution not be enacted by any Political Party that will form Government after the January 20th presidential election.

He says the Grand Coalition is shocked and disappointed with Political Parties whose Candidates have refused to sign the Social Contract.

Mr Nkhoma adds that presidential Candidates that have refused to sign the Social Contract with the Grand Coalition are simply not willing to the give the People of Zambia a new Constitution if elected into office on January 20th.
