ICOZ advises Zambians not to exaggerate violence

The Independent Churches Organization of Zambia (ICOZ) has advised Zambians not to exaggerate the political violence taking place during the presidential campaigns.

ICOZ President Bishop David Masupa says much as violence has been witnessed by some political parties which he admits they condemn, it should not be exaggerated citing that this may be alarming the people.

Bishop Masupa notes that some political parties have shown maturity in their campaigns and have not recorded any cases of violence stressing that this is commendable and should be encouraged.

He says it is possible for political parties to campaign peacefully and still win the elections hence the parties involved in violent acts should desist from doing so.

Bishop Masupa explains that the church condemns violence and stands for peace and will continue to preach peace even after the elections.

He has further advised presidential candidates for the forthcoming presidential elections not to be over confident of winning but be ready for whatever results and accept the outcome without causing any violence.
