Chief Kabinga urges fellow chiefs to be nonpartisan

Chief Kabinga of the Bisa speaking people in Mpika District in Muchinga Province has reminded his fellow traditional leaders that they are not supposed to take part in active politics.

The Traditional Leader states that the role of traditional leaders is simply to advise politicians and inform them on issues affecting their subjects and not take sides.

He says it is unfortunate that some chiefs are seen to be taking sides during the campaigns, the situation he has described as unfortunate.

Chief Kabinga says it is for this reason that all traditional leaders across the country desist from taking part in active politics, saying it is against the laws of the land.

He has since urged his fellow chiefs to ensure that they stay away from active politics but provide direction in their various chiefdoms.
