Edgar Lungu maintains that he is fit

Patriotic Front president Edgar Lungu has maintained that he is as fit as fiddle and will not die in office contrary to what some opposition political parties have been suggesting.

Speaking when he addressed a rally at Chongwe primary school in Chongwe this afternoon, Mr. Lungu says he enjoys good health and that he intends to finish what Late President Michael Sata started with regards the development of the country once elected president in this month’s presidential election.

QFM’s Lazarous Sichula reports that Mr Lungu told the crowd that this means that the ruling PF’s manifesto will only be revised in 2016.

And Mr. Lungu has called on the Zambia Police to arrest and prosecute any political party cadre found causing violence ahead of this month’s Presidential election.

He says his party has information that there are some youths who have been hired to cause violence disguised in PF t-shirts.

The PF president says the police should not hesitate to arrest such kind of people because they are not members of the ruling party.

He states that the ruling PF ceased to have such kind of people from the time he became the party’s Secretary General.

Mr Lungu has since called upon his party members to remain peaceful.

He has also called on PF members to be embracing to all new members joining the ruling party especially at a time when it has become attractive.
