Sinkamba to strengthen Zambia’s economy once elected

Green Party President Peter Sinkamba says his priority when he forms government will be to ensure the country’s economy is strengthened by diversifying from the mining sector to agriculture.

Mr. Sinkamba explains that the US$15 billion revenue which the country will be generating from the sale of legalized marijuana will be channeled into the economy to enhance growth.

He points out that 23 States in the United Stated that have legalized marijuana for medicinal purposes have seen the benefits of doing so.

He adds that he will also create an internal revenue authority responsible for monitoring and collecting domestic revenue and an External Revenue Authority which will be responsible for monitoring financial inflows from the international community.

Mr. Sinkamba further states that his government will also split the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) into two so that domestic revenue collection is also enhanced.
