Ng’oma sees rational theory in endorsement of presidential candidates

Political analyst Alex Ngoma says the endorsement of presidential candidates by some political giants is a clear sign of rational theory.

Commenting on the recent move by former republican President Rupiah Banda to endorse the candidature of Patriotic Front President Edgar Lungu, Dr. Ngoma says those endorsing candidates have analyzed the candidates and believe whoever they have endorsed will emerged victorious.

Dr. Ng’oma says Mr Banda is in this case convinced that the PF President is the best candidate among others.

He explains that in just three decades rational choice theory has emerged as one of the most active, influential, and ambitious subfields in the discipline of political science.

Dr. Ngoma says when voting in a national election, no one is supposed to announce to the public who they will vote because it has the potential to violate the democratic principal of the secret vote.

He has however stated that the former president has the right to endorse the candidate of his choice.
