Mr. Cheembe says this is because the country’s peace and order must not be compromised by such acts especially at a time an important election such as the January 20th presidential election is being held.

He says his organization further hopes party leaders whose cadres are said to have caused the alleged violence will ensure that whoever was behind the violence will be disciplined.

The SACCORD Executive Director has also reiterated the need for all political parties taking part in the forthcoming presidential election to abide by the Electoral Code of Conduct.
