The ruling Patriotic Front (PF) has observed that the levels of desperation that the opposition UPND has allegedly exhibited in its recent media briefing put national security at risks.
The ruling PF is of the view that the media briefing that was recently addressed by UPND vice president for politics Canisius Banda in which he alleged among other things that Defense Force Chiefs are advising soldiers to vote PF president Edgar Lungu and that some foreign nationals from Congo and Rwanda have been unleashed on Southern Province to cause violence are dangerous, inflammatory, irresponsible, and defamatory.
PF presidential spokesperson Harry Kalaba has told Qfm News in a statement that his party finds the UPND’s claim that it has a medical report of Mr. Lungu that purports that he has kidney problems as only being preposterous false allegations.
Mr. Kalaba who is also Foreign Affairs Minister says it is also is regrettable that the UPND is now involving Service Chiefs in partisan politics.
He states that the ruling is thus demanding that UPND president Hakainde Hichilema to apologize to the Defense Forces for the irresponsible and careless statement his party has made against them.

Mr. Kalaba says his party further demands that Mr. Hichilema apologizes to the Republic of Congo and to the Republic of Rwanda for his party’s false insinuations of its nationals that might sour the harmonious relations that Zambia enjoys with these sister Republics.
He says on the alleged medical report circulating on social media for some time now, it is now a proven and established fact that the said medical report is a total fabrication concocted by people that known to celebrate illness and death.
Mr. Kalaba notes that the purported criminal fabrication of this medical report was designed to cause scare and panic among Zambians.
He however states that for the fact that the UPND vice president for politics is a medical doctor by profession but has chosen to play dirty politics by issuing careless remarks; his party’s lawyers are launching a formal complaint to the Medical Council of Zambia to hold him accountable for this statement.
And Mr. Kalaba has maintained that Chongwe Member of Parliament remains a suspended official from the Patriotic Front for her earlier acts of gross indiscipline.
