The Zambia Police has instituted investigations in the matter in which political cadres clashed yesterday in Lusaka’s Kamanga Compound and at Levy Mwanawasa Hospital respectively.
The two incidents left two people injured and a Mitsubishi Pajero extensively damaged.
Police Spokesperson Charity Munganga-Chanda in a statement to QFM News says Police condemn in the strongest terms the conduct of the cadres and will arrest and take to court all those who will be found wanting.
Ms. Chanda says Police patrols in the area where cadres clashed are ongoing despite the situation returning to normal.
She has since appealed to all political parties to conduct their campaigns in a lawful and peaceful manner.
Ms. Chanda states that political parties should feel free to consult the Police on any security matters when conducting any form of campaign.
