Ngoma injured in Zambia training

Chipolopolo trainingStriker Patrick Ngoma missed Zambia training on Tuesday after suffering an injury.

Zambia team physician Doctor Joseph Kabungo said the Red Arrows and Zambia Under-20 strikers’ injury is not very serious.

“Patrick sat out of training today due to a slight ankle problem but it is nothing serious,” Kabungo said.

“The other 23 players are fine and training just fine.”

Ngoma made the provisional 27-member 2015 Africa Cup team after inspiring the Zambia Under-20 team to victory at the 2014 COSAFA Youth Championship that was held in Zimbabwe in early December.

The Arrows striker scored seven goals at the Zimbabwe tournament to win the Golden Boot.

Ngoma is one of twelve home-based call-ups in the 27 member team that is camped in South Africa for final team selection ahead of the Africa Cup that Equatorial Guinea will host from January 17 to February 8.
