I was out but not for treatment – Lungu

Patriotic Front President Edgar Lungu has confirmed that he was out of the country but was not in South Africa to seek medical attention.

Addressing journalists at Zambia Air Force (ZAF) Samora Michel Base in Mbala DistricELt this morning upon arrival for series of rallies, Mr.Lungu says he is in good health and did not go to seek medical attention abroad as perceived by some sections of the media.

He says it is unfortunate that some people have made it an issue that he is sick and was sourcing for funds abroad.

Mr. Lungu, who touched down at the ZAF Airstrip at 10:40 hours says it is inhuman to wish someone bad health.

He explained that he was out of the country, the reason why he did not manage to address a rally in Mpulungu yesterday.

Mr. Lungu, who could not disclose his mission out of the country, says for as long as the Law remains the same, he will not disclose his source of funding for the campaigns.

He adds that there is no law that compels him to say where he goes or what he goes to do outside the country.
The PF President was received by Northern Province Minister Freedom Sikazwe, Mbala Member of Parliament Mwalimu Simfukwe, Chief Mpande of the Mambwe-Lungu speaking people, MBALA District Commissioner Best Kaulembe among others.

Mr. Lungu has since proceeded to Kaputa, Nsama and Mpulungu Districts where he is expected to hold a series of rallies.
