UPND President Hakainde Hichilema has thanked Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba for endorsing him ahead of the 20th January, 2015 Presidential by-election.
Mr Hichilema says Mr Mwamba has made a commendable decision to follow his conscience and endorse him based on his assessment of who represents the best prospect for Zambia.
He says his campaign needs Zambians from every corner of the country and every walk of life to join and deliver change.
Mr Hichilema states that this is not about party politics or ambition; but about moving Zambia forward for the next 50 years.
He adds that this is about delivering a new people-driven constitution, paying farmers on time, empowering youth, managing the economy better and cutting back on waste so that more can be invested in education and healthcare, create jobs and reduce the cost of living.
The UPND leader says it is also about ending the communication void between government and the people, and ending government interference in traditional governance.
Mr Hichilema says he takes very seriously the weight of responsibility those who have endorsed him have placed upon me.
He says in this campaign, they are striving to show the power of strength, maturity and unity of purpose over division and derision.
