UNZASU appeals to incoming republican President

The University of Zambia Students Union (UNZASU) has appealed to the incoming republican President to look at the plight of the youths by ensuring that many youths are educated.

UNZASU President Shepherd Kinga says the next president should also ensure that job opportunities are created for young people graduating from universities and colleges as a way of reducing poverty levels that are currently high.

Mr. Kinga notes that Presidential aspirants should realize that youths are the majority of voters and hence when they win the presidential elections, the youths should not be forgotten but that youth issues should be given the attention it requires.

He says the incoming president should also be able to address the issue of bursaries in a more effective manner explaining that they are not impressed with the way things are happening right now.

Mr. Kinga further states that the next government should also ensure that the police work professionally with the students at higher learning institutions unlike the case has been where the students have suffered police brutality.
