Life in Jail is difficult – Mpombo

GeorgeFormer Defense Minister George Mpombo says life in prison was not easy for him for the few months that he spent in jail.

And Dr. Mpombo has also commended Acting Republican President Guy Scott for pardoning him and released him from prison saying it is a good gesture.

Acting President Guy Scott has pardoned Dr. Mpombo and former deputy Minister of Youth and Sport Stephen Masumba and immediately released them from prison.

Dr. Mpombo has told QFM News by telephone that it was too difficult for him to believe that he was behind bars.

He says he will forevermore be grateful to the Acting Republican President for considering him among the few people who were pardoned under a presidential amnesty

Dr. Mpombo, who has likened prison to a dungeon, says it was difficult to adapt to the prison life saying he was not a free man.

He says his body was in prison but his mind could not believe that he was incarcerated.

Dr. Mpombo, who is also People’s Democratic Party (PDP) President, has since thanked his family for showing him the best love during the time he was in prison.

Dr. Mpombo was serving a nine-month jail sentence for theft by public servant, forgery and uttering a false document.
